Do You Want Something So Much You Are Pushing It Away?

When I used to feed my son he was so frantic to get the milk that he mistakenly pushed away exactly what he most wants and needs. Whilst squirming about and clutching for it, waving his hands and trying to speed things up, it became harder to actually get the milk to his mouth and he slowed everything down! This ended up with him getting more frustrated, until I pinned his little arm down or held his hand out of the way (I’m always impressed how strong a 10 week old baby could be!)

Interestingly, this is something I have noticed with myself or with clients sometimes, when a result or outcome is so badly desired that it becomes almost impossible to receive it, and the more we want it and struggle to get it, the slower and more arduous the whole process becomes. On my journey of ups and downs, mastering the art of manifesting and creating the life of my dreams I have had to continually surrender and ‘let go’.

So today’s article is about how to receive your desires faster, let go of attachments and basically get out of your own way!

1. Breathe

It sounds basic, and it is, but so often we forget to just take a breath and step back and see the situation for what it is. We lose perspective when we get attached or start chasing something, or decide on the way things ‘should’ be. We forget to trust life, trust the process and believe in the good that is naturally ours and will find us once we are available for it! Yes – it’s not so much as needing to ‘get’ your good, as it is about being open, ready and willing to receive it, so place your energy on shifting to that space rather than the ‘grabbing’ space of lack, fear and want.

2. Know

Get yourself into your knowing. Listen to your intuition, ask for what you want and then ALLOW, by leaning back and hearing the messages you receive, looking out for signs and then taking immediate action upon your guidance. Cultivate a knowing inside you of safety and enoughness:

“We each have the choice in any setting to step back and let go of the mind-set of scarcity. Once we let go of scarcity, we discover the surprising truth of sufficiency. By sufficiency, I don’t mean a quantity of anything. Sufficiency isn’t two steps up from poverty or one step short of abundance. It isn’t a measure of barely enough or more than enough. Sufficiency isn’t an amount at all. It is an experience, a context we generate, a declaration, a knowing that there is enough, and that we are enough.” Lynne Twist, the Soul of Money

3. Gratitude

You’ve heard it before and no doubt will be reminded again, but I’m harping on about gratitude anyways, because it’s fundamental to receiving your good. As the old saying goes- what you appreciate, appreciates – so make a note today of all the many and myriad blessings in your life and extend your gratitude to another and make their day!

With All My Love & Blessings,

Katharine
